Myanmar does not have a strong base in consumer goods production, so it imports the majority of consumer products from neighboring countries.

Since Myanmar’s market opened up in 2012, foreign brands have been rapidly entering the country because of its geolocation, population, low wage, and generalized system of preferences (GSP). Territory of Myanmar is between China and India, and it also near other countries such as Thailand and Laos. The population of Myanmar is also relative young that 62% of people are under 35 years old, and the average age is 29.1 years old in Myanmar.

Myanmar continues to be among the fastest growing economies in the region with signs of consumers opening up and spending more on FMCG consumption especially cheaper and mid-priced products.
